JOHN BROOKFIELD

Nevers’ Band is excited to present Mr. John Brookfield as our Guest Conductor for the July 14 concert. at Rolfe Park in Penacook, NH. Mr.Brookfield has chosen Rolfe Park, Penacook as his concert location to pay tribute to the 3rd NH Regiment Band which was enlisted from the Penacook area during the Civil War.

Mr. Brookfield received his Bachelor of Music from Boston University and his Masters of Science in Music and Masters of Arts in Music from UNH. He has been a brass instructor for 22 years at Phillips Exeter Academy, instrumental music instructor in the Merrimack Valley District for 10 years and the same in the Hopkinton School district for 25 years.

John retired in 1997 and since then has been editing Civil War band selections, four of which appear on a CD made by the outstanding “Wildcat Regiment Band” from Home, PA. He is presently working on a book about the men from the 3rd NH Regiment Band and has done the extensive work of following the careers and whereabouts of these NH patriots through their lives after the war.
